A wedding set is unlike any other. It has to carry joy, emotion and energy across a room full of people of all ages and tastes. After 50+ weddings, Sweet Le Freak knows exactly how to do that.
It started early. Around nine years old. Playing piano. Recording sounds on an 8-track. Curious. Building. Testing what music could do. At parties, two CD players. No plan, just feeling. The shift came on March 14, 2009. A self-organised event. No big stage. No expectations. But something happened. The floor became one. People let go. For a moment, nothing else mattered.
That was it.
Not just playing music, but shaping energy. Since then, the focus never changed. Not chasing tracks, but building a night.
Starting with vocals. African drums. Something familiar, something that moves you before you think.
Hips loosen. Energy opens. The room follows.
In the early years, there was doubt.
Adjusting too quickly.
Letting a few people shift the direction.
Now, there’s trust. Trust in the build. In the flow. In holding the line. Sweet Le Freak doesn’t react to the room. He guides it. Not with force, but with timing. With groove. With unexpected turns that still feel right. The goal is simple. To take people out of their heads. Into their body. Into a state where everything drops away. Where the energy lifts, and for a while, it feels like something else takes over. Still driven by the same thing: love for music, curiosity, and the need to push further. Staying close to that, while bringing people together on the floor. Every time again.
